My Quarantine Weekend

What I watched!

Booksmart

This movie is rated R and directed by Olivia Wilde.  It has been on my to-watch-list for a bit and if you are in quarantine then there is no better time to get caught up on your list’s then now. This movie was painfully funny. The duo lead characters are Amy and Molly, life long friends who are about to graduate high school. Both ladies never got in any trouble growing up and never went to parties during their time in high school. To show for it they are both following career paths towards the Ivy League school of their dreams and all the sacrifices they made seem to have been worth it. That is until the day before they walk the stage. Molly finds out that the popular and trouble making crowds have also been accepted into some major schools just as they have. Suddenly Molly feels like all her hard work was for nothing. She then talks Amy into going to the biggest graduation party of her class to make up for the lost time. That’s exactly what happens but not the way they envisioned. Their adventure includes slap-stick hijinks that are sure to make you laugh.

What I listened to!

Lumineers NPR Tiny Desk Performance

This was a great performance and was filmed a few weeks before things got crazy with COVID-19. The band talks a little about their most current album titled lll, a concept album that tackles addiction and generational traumaA music video was filmed for each song of the album and you witness the story of three generations struggling with their demons, it’s very raw and cinematic. Check out their performance to the right and you can check out the music videos to their concept album, lll here.
