eBook: Get a Life Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

At the end of March, our Bad Girls Book Club was supposed to meet and discuss Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert. Due to the crisis, our library, like many are closed to the public and our events were canceled. I’m lucky to be friends with members of our book group outside of work and because of that our book club is still going! We are now meeting online. Recently we gathered to talk about Get a Life, Chloe Brown, FINALLY! and I am so glad that the group liked it, myself included.

*Minor Spoilers*

It was a really great read and funny.  It brought some laughter and sexiness into the lives of the readers which is totally needed and appreciated during this time. The heroine is Chloe Brown, yes that Chloe Brown from the title who nearly gets hit by a car that crashes into a building. She was feet away from it when it happened and was not injured. If time had not on her side, she could have been hit. This changes her perspective on things. Miss. Chloe is not satisfied with her life...or better yet lack of having a life. For a good chunk of Chloe's life, she as worked hard to manage her pain with fibromyalgia, which led to some isolation and the fallout of friendships. Chloe doesn’t want that life anymore so she makes a list. A list to help her have a freaking life for once!

Her list includes the following:
• Enjoy a drunken night out.
• Ride a motorcycle.
• Go camping.
• Have meaningless but thoroughly enjoyable sex.
• Travel the world with nothing but hand luggage.
• And... do something bad.

What’s not on the list? Running into her super hot, tattooed up handyman during unflattering moments in her new apartment complex. The hero Redford isn’t a handyman by choice, he's an artist who is taking a hiatus from the art scene. Both Chloe and Redford (Red) can’t stand each other until they rescue a cat together, and soon thereafter Chloe convinces Red to help her check off items from her list. This leads to a friendship and then blooms into a romance. But like any romance novel, you have to put your characters through some feels before they can achieve a HEA (Happily Ever After) or HFN (Happy For Now).

Some of the themes of this book include emotional abuse, forgiveness, and illness.
Red is an excellent book boyfriend and Chloe is a clever, quick-witted heroine who the book group said they could see themselves befriending. It was an awesome read and whether you’re a romance lover or not, I highly suggest adding this to your quarantine reading list.

This is a Bad Girls Book Club favorite!
